Photo: Fall 2024 Intern, Mammalogy and Ornithology Major: Ecology AB Expected year of graduation: May 2025 Staff/faculty mentor: Nicole Pontzer Interests:I love being in nature and learning about all of the cool organisms that exist alongside us! I am particularly fond of all winged creatures from birds to bugs to bats, as well as skeletal materials that tell the story of evolution. I am hoping to pursue research in the future and hopefully work in conservation. My work at the museum consists of cataloging specimens at the annex as well as condensing the Georgia exhibit at the on-campus site and helping with the creation of the new migration exhibit. What made you want to do an internship with GMNH?: I wanted to intern with the museum not only for experience that will help me with research down the line, but also for a chance to be a part of something bigger than myself. Being able to interact with the Earth’s natural history through all of the specimens is amazing, but knowing that my work will always be a part of the long life of this museum is such a great thought. I am handling the archives of those decades before me, and in the future someone else will do the same with what I have done here and now.
