With a strong interest in field biology and the natural world, I've spent more than 10 years of combined experience working as a lab assistant, field assistant, and research assistant in the fields of freshwater and marine ecology before coming to GMNH. Before my current position at the museum, I spent 10 years as a curatorial staff member working in the vertebrate and coral collections at GMNH. I am a member of a research team involved in coral reef monitoring in the Florida Keys and participate annually in research dives as part of this project. I also play a leading role at the museum in facilitating tours and outreach events, as well as creating public exhibits.

Education:

B.S. Ecology, University of Georgia

Selected Publications:

exhibits: From Carnivores to the Domesticated Dog, This Place We Call Georgia, Birds of a Feather, (currently working on Migrations exhibit opening Spring 2025); internship supervisor for mammal, bird, herpetology, and fish collections; Partner with Birds Georgia for their Urban Ecology Course; lead tour host for GMNH biological collections

Of note:

I am taking interns. Across all four of the vertebrate collections, interns assist in the following: cataloging specimens, preparing specimens, inventory, exhibits, assist with tours, serve as docent in the public gallery, help organize the collection spaces both on campus and at our off-campus curation annex.
