State Botanical Garden, Athens, GA Friday, October 4 2019 | 6pm Friends Events Museum Events The Friends of the Georgia Museum of Natural History cordially invites you to attend our annual fund-raising event being held on Friday, October 4, 2019 at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia. We are delighted to host Dr. Rytas Vilgalys, Professor of Biology at Duke University, as our speaker for Celebration 2019. Dr. Vilgalys is an internationally renowned mycologist who has been involved in exploring the deep phylogenetic relationships of fungi – including yeasts, mushrooms, and relatives – as well as describing new species, identifying their interactions with their ecosystem, and overall being a Fun Guy. I guarantee we will have a good time and learn a lot! The event will commence at 6:00 p.m. with cocktails and a silent auction. Dinner will be served at 8:00 p.m. The deadline to reserve tickets is September 20, 2019.
