Spring 2026 Parents Leadership Council Intern
Fall 2025 Intern, Herbarium

Major: Ecology (BS) and Plant Biology (BS)

Anticipated Year of Graduation: May 2026

What collections are you working with: Herbarium

Who is your staff/faculty mentor: Tanisha Williams and Steven Hughes

What are your interests (academic & otherwise): I am interested in doing invasive species research long-term, but in general, I enjoy hiking, felting, and hanging out with my friends!

What are you doing with your collection during your internship: I am working in the herbarium to mount plant specimens for our long-term collections. I take pressed plant specimens, arrange and glue them to herbarium-grade paper, and once they have dried, I assist in the organization of placing the new specimens with the larger collections.

What made you want to do an internship with GMNH: I initially began work as an intern for credit for my degree program, but after my first semester in the herbarium, I knew that I wanted to come back for another semester. I love being a part of a science community that is interested in collections and specimen preservation, as well as being able to contribute to meaningful work that people all over the country can utilize!
